This privacy statement discloses Privacy Practices of SKILLBOTT Corporation (“SKILLBOTT”) for our website: www.SKILLBOTT.com (the "SKILLBOTT Website") that Apply Only to Use of SKILLBOTT through K-12 Schools.

SKILLBOTT is the sole owner of the information collected on the SKILLBOTT Website. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement. SKILLBOTT collects information from our users at several different points on our website, including information about the knowledge of users of our services in order  to provide instructional services suitable to their needs.

This Privacy Statement covers the following:

What information do we collection from children from Kidergarten                                                                              through 12th Grade using SKILLBOTT through their School and how do                                                                                we use it?

  2. What personally identifiable information is collected through the                                                                                  SKILLBOTT Website.

  3. The organization collecting the information.

  4. With whom the information may be shared.

  5. The kind of security producedures that are in place to protect the loss, misuse, or alteration of information under SKILLBOTT's control.

  6. The special policies we follow that apply only to K-12 students using SKILLBOTT through their school.

What Information Do We Collect from Children from Kindergarten through 12th Grade Using SKILLBOTT through their School ("K-12 Students") and How Do We Use It? Personally Identifiable Information: SKILLBOTT collects personally identifiable information from K-12 Students when SKILLBOTT is being used by the K-12 Students through their K-12 school or school district. Personally identifiable information includes information that could be used to contact a child, such as a complete last name,  e-mail address, telephone number .

 

Registration: In order to use SKILLBOTT, a K-12 Student must first complete the K-12 registration form. During registration, K-12 Students will be asked to provide personally identifiable information, such as complete first and last name, school assigned student identification number, e-mail address, etc. With this information, SKILLBOTT will assign each K-12 Site user with a login name and password to use each time the user returns to the K-12 Site.

 

Teacher and School Access to Information: SKILLBOTT will supply information on each SKILLBOTT student (including login name) to the student's teacher and school. This information contains a large amount of information about the individual student's (and the class and/or school as a whole's) skills, knowledge and performance on individual items of study, such as math topics and problems. The teacher and school will be able to personally identify the student. This means that the teacher will be able to obtain information from SKILLBOTT as to each individual K-12 Student’s knowledge, skills, performance, work habits, etc. 

 

Other Uses and Sharing and Personally Identifiable Information of K-12 Students Using

 

SKILLBOTT Through Their School: SKILLBOTT will share the personally identifiable information of K-12 Students using SKILLBOTT through their school only with (1) the individual K-12 Student, (2) the K-12 Student’s school or school district and (2) the individual K-12 Student’s parent or legal guardian. SKILLBOTT will not disclose or share such personally identifiable with anyone else unless SKILLBOTT has first obtained the express consent of the school or school district.

 

SKILLBOTT uses personally identifiable information collected from K-12 Students using SKILLBOTT through their school solely for purposes of providing SKILLBOTT educational services to such K-12 Students.

 

Information regarding K-12 Students will be used by SKILLBOTT for research and product development purposes only in the aggregate, so that the privacy of the students’ personally identifiable information will be maintained.

Parental Consent

SKILLBOTT will presume that the school or school district has obtained the consent of the parents or legal guardians of the K-12 Students using SKILLBOTT. By arranging with SKILLBOTT for K-12 Students to access and use the SKILLBOTT Website and educational products and services, schools and school districts are (i) consenting to the provisions of this Privacy Statement, including the use of personally identifiable information by SKILLBOTT in the manner described above; and (ii) accepting responsibility for obtaining any and all necessary parental consents for SKILLBOTT to collect and use personally identifiable information as described above.  

Plug-ins and Cookies

A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's hard drive containing information about the user. A plug-in is software which the user downloads and is installed into the user's web browser that enables certain web software to operate. Cookies enable us to protect confidential data, and track and target the interests of our users to enhance the experience on the SKILLBOTT Website. In order to use the SKILLBOTT Website, a user must accept the installation of one or more SKILLBOTT plug-ins into the user's browser. Cookies and the SKILLBOTT plug-in are not linked to any personally identifiable information.  

 

Log Files

As is true of most Web sites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data. We use this information to analyze trends, administer the site, track users' movements, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. Log files are are linked to personally identifiable information for purposes of (i) tracking and fixing software "bugs" and (ii) as and to the extent required by applicable law.  

 

Transmission Errors or Unauthorized Acts

Although SKILLBOTT will use reasonable efforts to safeguard the confidentiality of personally identifiable information, transmissions made by means of the Internet cannot be made absolutely secure. SKILLBOTT will not be liable for disclosures of personally identifiable information due to errors in transmission or unauthorized acts of third parties.  

 

Required by Law

SKILLBOTT may be required by law to release information regarding our users to law enforcement officials or to use the information internally to permit the investigation of credit card fraud, illegal use of the Internet, violation of our terms of service or other cases of misconduct on the SKILLBOTT Website. We reserve the right to disclose personally identifiable information under such circumstances, or when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or other legal process.

 

Change of Ownership

In the event that there is a change of ownership or sale of assets of SKILLBOTT, whatever information that we have collected from the SKILLBOTT Website may be transferred to a new owner. SKILLBOTT will use all reasonable efforts to ensure that the new owners of the information follow the same privacy practices that are described in this Privacy Statement.

As part of the registration process, users are assigned a login name as described above (see "Registration" above) and an anonymous password. SKILLBOTT will use the login name and password to identify the user on all subsequent visits to the K-12 Site. It is the user's responsibility to keep his or her password confidential.

 

SKILLBOTT takes every precaution to protect our users' information. When users submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and off-line.

 

Only SKILLBOTT personnel and authorized agents providing training, support and technical maintenance have system access rights permitting them to grant access to personally identifiable information. Such personnel are qualified professionals who require such rights to perform necessary functions for customers. System access for those SKILLBOTT personnel and authorized agents is restricted by password, communication is encrypted using SSL, and authentication is handled separately from the authentication in place for end-users. Under SKILLBOTT policy, SKILLBOTT personnel and authorized agents may grant access to personally identifiable information only to professional staff of customers (such as school teachers and administrators) who require such access. The servers that we store personally identifiable information on are kept in a secure environment, behind a locked cage.

 

Notification of Changes

SKILLBOTT reserves the right to change this Privacy Statement, or any other SKILLBOTT policy or practice, at any time. Any changes or updates to this Privacy Statement will be effective upon posting to the SKILLBOTT Website. Although we may change or update this Privacy Statement at any time, SKILLBOTT will provide notice of any material changes to this Privacy Statement by posting a notice on the home page of the SKILLBOTT Website. For your information, the date of the last update to this Privacy Statement is listed at the top of this page.
